Meretz Attacks Netanyahu: 36.5% of Kids Live in Poverty

Meretz MK Zehava Gal-On launched bitter accusations at Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Education Minister Gideon Sa'ar, citing a Child Welfare Council report released Tuesday which stated that 35.6% of children in Israel are living in poverty.

"Whoever listened to Gideon Saar and Netanyahu this week got the impression that it's good to be a kid in Israel," said Gal-On sarcastically, who used data to allege that the number of children living in poverty rose since Netanyahu became Prime Minister.

"Netanyahu and Saar can not explain how, after four years that they've been in power, 65.8% of Arab children are living under the poverty line and how it is that not one ultra-Orthodox child has escaped poverty during these years."
