Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened Tuesday-morning trading with modest to moderate gains. About 20 minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,067.16, up .64 percent, while the TA 100 rose .68 percent to 1,071.08, including a .63-percent advance to 1,219.23 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
Leading the way were the bank stocks, which climbed 1.61 percent to 1,170.34, as the financial institutions stood at 1,068.39, up 1.5 percent, including a 1.15-percent rise to 1,137.56 by the insurance index. The real-estate issues stood at 300.18, up 1.2 percent, while the communications and media stocks rose .83 percent to 524.74, followed by the oil and natural-gas index, which stood at 1.167.13, up .81 percent. Most of the technology issues stood at 336.45, up .43 percent, while the biomed stocks declined .29 percent to 817.11.
