The Knesset is scheduled to hold a special session, Thursday, on an amendment to the Second Broadcast Authority Law, which will extend the franchise of debt-ridden Channel 10 Televison and the company which provides local news by two years. The amendment is needed to complete a package of loan guarantees recently arranged to finance the debts.

Passage of the amendment will cancel dismissal notices that employees are scheduled to receive Tuesday morning.
