Lieberman Indictment to be Submitted Tuesday

The State Prosecutor's Office is expected to submit the indictment against Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman to the Jerusalem Magistrates Court on Tuesday, Kol Yisrael radio reported.

Lieberman will be charged with fraud and breach of trust for allegedly promoting former Israeli ambassador to Belarus, Ze'ev Ben-Aryeh, after the latter provided him with information regarding another investigation against Lieberman. The maximum penalty for the offense is three years in prison, but the Prosecution is not expected to request that Lieberman be imprisoned if found guilty. It is, however, likely to ask that the Court rule there was moral turpitude in Lieberman's actions.
