Syrian VP: Government Can't Win

Syria's Vice President Farouk al-Sharaa told a Lebanese newspaper that he believes the government army, trying desperately to defeat the rebel forces who are gaining more ground as each day passes, will not be able to acheive a difinitive victory after the already 21 months of violence and fighting.

The Vice President offered a bleak view of the situation, and said that the situation is too dire and too much damage has been done that a government victory doesn't seem possible, a startling revelation as these kinds of statements rarely come from top officials inside the Syrian government.
