Residents of the Binyamin-region Jewish community of Neve Tzuf have scheduled a regional candle lighting ceremony for the eighth evening of Hanukkah, Saturday night at 19:00 at the eastern gate of the community. Singing and dancing will accompany the ceremony under the theme of "We came to chase away the darkness," based on a Hebrew song for the holiday.
The location was the scene of a drive-by shooting Thursday afternoon. Terrorists in a car opened fire at another vehicle, hitting the community's gate and the bag of a woman from the Jewish community of Talmon. Chairman Itzik Shadmi of the Binyamin Residents' Council noted, Thursday evening, that an adjacent Israeli army base was relocated a week and a half before. He added, "I have no doubt that terrorists in the area identified the breach and and took action."
