Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein will decide, in the next few days, to approve or freeze the appointment of Major General Gadi Eisenkott to succeed Yair Naveh as Deputy Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces. Defense Minister Ehud Barak and Chief of Staff Benny Gantz met with Weinstein, Thursday, in an effort to convince him to authorize the appointment.

It is believed that Weinstein will issue his legal opinion on the matter on Sunday.
