Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange ended the trading week, Thursday, with moderate losses on an active day of trading. The TA Composite Index closed at 1,079.94, down 1.11 percent, while the TA 100 declined 1.29 percent to 1,082.90, including a 1.09-percent drop to 1,230.88, by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues. The 50 stocks outside the TA 100 climbed 1.96 percent.
The lone bright spot was the biomed index, which rose 1.25 percent to 838.30 while the rest of the technology issues closed at 343.26, down 1.39 percent. The worst hit were the insurance stocks, which fell three percent to 1,139.92 as the financial institutions finished the day at 1,066.44, down 1.53 percent, including a 1.54-percent slump to 1,155.07 by the bank index. The real-estate index closed at 300.30, down 1.75 percent, followed by the oil and natural-gas issues, which declined 1.59 percent to 1,171.07. The Ma'ala organization's list of socially-responsible companies finished the day at 889.44, down 1.25 percent, while the communications and media stocks declined .52 percent to 533.74.
