“The situation in which citizens of Israel live today is not like that of European Jews [during the Holocaust] in any way,” Tzipi Livni said Wednesday. “Not everyone is against us ,and not everyone is anti-Semitic.”
Livni called to “change the policy” and “renew negotiations.” The current administration has repeatedly invited the Palestinian Authority to negotiate with no preconditions, but has refused to negotiate directly with Hamas, which calls for Israel’s destruction.
Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman recently accused the EU of ignoring Hamas’ threats as Europe once ignored the Nazis’ threats.
