Nurses’ Union head Ilana Cohen spoke to IDF Radio (Galei Tzahal) on Wednesday about the ongoing nurses strike. “I understand that there are budget cuts, but people need to understand: the nurses’ problem must be solved,” she said.
Nurses say that without higher salaries and a government resolution making nursing a national priority profession, Israel will face a serious shortage of nurses.
Speaking of a compromise deal offered by the Treasury, she said, “It would be better to leave things as they are. We absolutely will not agree to take crumbs.”
