A committee will hold a parole hearing next week for former Finance Minister Avraham Hirschson. The former minister could be released from the final one-third of his prison term for good behavior.

Hirschson was sentenced to five and a half years in jail for stealing money from the Histadrut national labor union. Hirschson admitted to “stupid, unethical” behavior, but continues to deny theft.
