Otzma Leyisrael Leaders Seek Probe of Nazi-Like Pix

Member of Knesset Michael Ben-Ari (Otzma Leyisrael) said, Monday, that he and fellow party leader, MK Aryeh Eldad, intend to ask Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein to investigate the posting of pictures on Facebook that depict them as Nazis burning books. Referring to a similar depiction of Prime Minister Yitzchak Rabin before he was assassinated, Doctor Ben-Ari said, "Just as the presentation of Rabin in an SS uniform was perceived as incitement to murder from the right, so, today is the killing sanctioned of those who are depicted as Nazis. The attorney general must open an investigation unless he wants it to be proved, on the eve of the elections, that the Justice Ministry carries out a policy of double standards and discrimination in favor leftist Knesset members."

The pictures are in response to the appearance of Ben-Ari and Eldad at a candle lighting ceremony in a Tel Aviv neighborhood with a heavy population of people who infiltrated illegally from Africa, among other places. The theme of the ceremony was a Hebrew children's song which says, "We came to chase the darkness." Ben-Ari reacted by saying, "Instead of learning from us and worrying about the plight of the [Israeli] residents of the Tikva neighborhood, they prefer to bury their head in the sand and, even worse, to present us as racists. How typical of those hypocrites who want to help the illegal infiltrators at the expense of their brothers in the neighborhoods."
