Education Minister Gid'on Sa'ar reacted, Sunday evening, to Saturday's speech by Hamas politburo leader Khaled Mashaal by saying that eliminated Hamas military leader "Ahmed Ja'bri spoke until recently - He's not speaking anymore. Anyone who threatens to murder Jews in the land of Israel will not be safe anywhere."
Speaking at a ceremony for lighting the second Hanukkah candle at the Western Wall of the Temple in Jerusalem, Sa'ar also said, "The land of Israel is the land of the people of Israel and Jerusalem is the capital of Israel; that's how it was 3,000 years ago, that's how it is today and that's how it will be. It's up to us to guard the walls of Jerusalem, even against heavy pressure. It's our right to live in the land of Israel, our right and our duty to build Jerusalem and the land of Israel." Referring to recent uproar over proposed construction between Jerusalem and Ma'aleh Adumim, he added, "When we build in the land of Israel, in Jerusalem and in Ma'aleh Adumim, we are exercising our right and fulfilling our duty - that's the inheritance of our fathers."
