Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange posted modest gains to start the trading week on Sunday. The TA Composite Index closed at 1,086.90, up .63 percent, while the TA 100 rose six tenths of a percent to 1,091.73, including a .49-percent advance to 1,234.58 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues. The 50 stocks just outside the TA 100 ended trading at 431.22, up 1.25 percent.
The insurance index led the gainers, climbing 1.78 percent to 1,192.14 as the financial institutions finished the day at 1,062.27, up 1.05 percent, including a .66-percent rise to 1,131.50 by the bank issues. The biomed stocks advanced 1.42 percent to 829.26, while the rest of the technology index closed at 345.40, up .07 percent. The real-estate issues rose .83 percent to 302.22, followed by the communications and media stocks, which ended the day at 540.72, up .81 percent, and the Ma'ala organizations list of socially responsible companies, which advanced .58 percent to 896.01. The oil and natural-gas index finished the day at 1,184.61, up .44 percent.
