Tnuva Faces Complaints over Animal Abuse

The Tnuva company is facing complaints after a TV program revealed animal abuse in the Adom Adom slaughterhouse in Beit She'an. Among other things, the Kalbotek TV show showed animals being kept in crowded, unsanitary conditions and being hit, violently dragged, and otherwise hurt by employees, Army Radio (Galei Tzahal) reports.

Animal rights groups have filed a police complaint and are calling for a boycott. Many members of the public voiced upset on Tnuva’s Facebook page, with several posting calls for a boycott or questioning the kosher status of meat from the plant where abuse was found.
