U.S. Secratary of State Hillary Clinton met with Russia's foreign minister and the UN peace envoy for Syria on Thursday to try to reach a new agreement on how to deal with the violent civil war in Syria.
The two countries have not agreed much on how to approach the situation, however this time it seems the two have agreed to support mediation within Syria in efforts transfer political power in the country. Clinton added that in order to secure any hopes of a democratic future for the country, President Bashar al-Assad must step down.
