The Friends of the Israel Defense Forces raised more than 14 million dollars, Thursday evening, during their Western Region Gala in Los Angeles, according to a Friday report by IDF Radio. Organizer Haim Saban contributed $3.5 million and another million dollars came from a 92-year-old Holocaust survivor.

The event made news last week, when musician Stevie Wonder bowed to anti-Israeli pressure and cancelled his appearance. Fellow Grammy-award winner David Foster remained on the bill.
