MK Bielski Leaving Politics

Member of Knesset Ze'ev Bielski (Kadima) informed Party Chairman Shaul Mofaz, Thursday, that he has decided to retire from politics and asked Mofaz to remove his name from Kadima's list of Knesset candidates. The former Jewish Agency chairman had been placed in the fourth slot on the ballot.

Bielski's associates said he preferred to retire with dignity after a single term, given the fact that Kadima is not expected to get many seats, if enough to stay in the Knesset. The Yisrael Hayom daily reported, Friday, that Bielski already informed Mofaz of his intentions about a month ago but Mofaz urged him not to make a final decision until the publication of the Kadima list.
