The Health Ministry has announced that pesticide residue was found in 57 percent of more than 5,500 food samples that were taken between 2006 and 2010, according to a Friday report by the Yisrael Hayom daily.
While 11 percent of the samples contained levels of pesticide above the permitted amount, the ministry said the risk to health was minimal.
