About 100 students were trapped, Thursday evening, in their Haifa school, due to flooding caused by the day's rain.
The school is located at 41 Hanegev Street in the Chalisa neighborhood, at the edge of a stream that flows from the top of Mount Carmel into the Mediterranean Sea. Floodwaters spilled over into the school. Firefighters who were sent to the campus told the students to enter the building and go to its upper floors until the waters subside. The situation was not considered life threatening.
