Rabbi Aryeh Der'i stressed unity in the Shas party, following Thursday's announcement of the party's candidates in January's Knesset election. Referring to news from other parties during a news conference at the synagogue of the party's spiritual advisor, Rabbi Ovadia Yoseph, Der'i said, "Nobody deserted and no one fled. We all lovingly accept the Council of Torah Sages' decision."
Der'i continued, "The mportant thing is the path. Shas is not a party of 'I' but of 'we'. We are storming the field. Starting Sunday all our meetings will be held in the field. We will not leave a place the country where we will not be."
