Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi returned Wednesday to the Presidential Palace after a Tuesday night protest forced him to leave the building. More than 100,000 took part Tuesday in a violent protest over Morsi’s plan to give himself new powers under a new constitution.

Only a few dozen protesters remained by Wednesday morning.
