Seventeen people face a hearing, Monday, for extension of their remand, after they were arrested, before dawn, on suspicion of activities associated with the Abd Al-Khadr crime organization in the Arab Triangle area between Tel Aviv. They face charges of murder, attempted murder, extortion, illegal weapons possession, drug and property crimes, tax crimes, money laundering and other economic charges. Senior officials in the Taibe municipality were detained for questioning on suspicion of helping the suspects, either willingly or by force.
Members of the organization face are suspected of involvement in at least 50 incidents going back to 2005. In addition to the offenses listed above, they are suspected of diverting tenders. Police say 110 pieces of property - including real estate and cars - were forfeited during the investigation, and incriminating documents were seized.
