180 workers with local news agencies got layoff notices Sunday that will go into effect on January 1. The layoffs occurred following the government’s decision not to authorize the continuation of the broadcasts law.

Last week workers met and decided to conduct a campaign demanding that the law be approved and funding granted to local news organizations immediately.
