Tens of thousands of runners, bikers and hikers are expected in the Jordan Valley, next Thursday, for a day of activities billed as "the torch run" in memory of slain tourism minister Rechav'am Ze'evi. The events will begin at 8:00 a.m. with races of three and eight kilometers for the runners, with courses of 13 and 15 kilometers for the bicyclists at popular and challenging levels.
There will be nature tours throughout the day and a memorial observance for Ze'evi, starting at 4:00 p.m. The events are sponsored by the Jordan Valley Regional Council and the Council for the Commemoration and Work of Rechav'am Ze'evi in the Prime Minister's Office.
