Bedouin Suspected of Helping Terrorists Aim Missiles

Security sources suspect that Bedouin in the Negev sent information to Hamas and Islamic Jihad in Gaza to assist their accuracy in launching missiles at Israel during the recent Pillar of Defense counterterror operation, according to a Tuesday-morning report by the Ma'ariv daily. The Bedouin reportedly entered prohibited military areas and reported on the location of missiles that had fallen there.

A reserves paratroop patrol reported that it fired warning shots during the chase of a van spotted on a hill next to a base in the Lachish area, but the van and its occupants got away. The Spokesperson's Office of the Israel Defense Forces said the many who tried to enter closed military areas were arrested and turned over to police and other agencies of the security establishment.
