No Religious-Judge C'tee Meeting Before Elections

A three-judge panel of the Supreme Court ordered the committee charged with appointing religious-court judges not to meet until after the Knesset elections. The order was issued following a hearing on a petition by the Emunah women's group, demanding invalidation of the results of the Bar Association elections for committee positions. The petition claims that the Bar Association elections clash with the law that guarantees women representation on the committee.

The court said it would allow the new government to appoint women to the committee and if it doesn't do so, the court will continue to deal with the petition.
