The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened Monday-morning trading with modest losses in mixed trading. About a quarter of an hour into the session, The TA Composite Index stood at 1,074.91, down .16 percent, with the same percentage drop meaning a posting of 1,082.81 for the TA 100 and 1,225.18 for the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
On the other side of the coin, gains of .16 percent were recorded by the oil and natural-gas stocks (1,127.75) and the real-estate index (294.71). Leading the gainers were the communications and media issues, which rose .31 percent to 545.88. The insurance stocks stood at 1,093.42, up .09 percent, but the financial institutions declined .29 percent to 1,016.08 as the bank index declined .42 percent to 1,118.43. The biomed issues stood at 799.50, down .28 percent, while the rest of the technology stocks fell .47 percent to 348.59.
