Rumor: Barak to Enter Knesset on Yisrael Beyteinu List

Defense Minister Ehud Barak may enter Knesset on the Yisrael Beyteinu list, Yisrael Hayom said Sunday. Party head Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman is said to be planning to including certain politicians on his party’s list if they fail to make the Likud list.

If true, the move would allow Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to guarantee favored candidates a spot in Knesset. Putting Barak on the list would allow him to continue to serve as Defense Minister, thus avoiding a scenario in which potential Lieberman rival Moshe Yaalon is given the ministerial role.
