Opponents of Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad claimed, Thursday, that they had taken control of the Mayadin military base in the eastern part of the country.

The rebels also told the Al Arabiya network that they downed a government fighter jet over Damascus. No injuries were reported in the explosion of a car bomb in the capital.
