Morsi Increases Powers; Dismisses General Prosecutor

Egyptian President Mohammed decreed a number of constitutional amendments, Thursday, including one that said decisions he had made since taking office could not be appealed. Spokesman Yasser Ali announced on television that Morsi "can issue any decision or measure to protect the revolution." Morsi granted immunity to Egypt's constitutional committee and the upper house of parliament from any court decision to disolve them, ahead of a December court ruling on the legislative body's legality.
