2 Teens Arrested in Protest Against Arab Rock Throwing

Two teenage residents of Karnei Shomron were arrested, Thursday afternoon, when they took part in a protest against hostile activities by Arabs living in the nearby village of Azoun. The activities, which include the throwing of rocks at people and vehicles, increased during this past week's Pillar of Defense counter-terror campaign in Gaza.

The boys were part of a group of 20-25 students from Karnei Shomron's yeshiva high school who demonstrated in the junction at the entrance to the Samarian (Shomron) Jewish community. People in an unmarked car photographed the demonstration and arrested one of the boys. A second boy was arrested when he complained to police that the first one had not done anything to be arrested. The two, who were advised by the Honenu legal-aid organization, were interrogated on suspicion of blocking the highway.
