Candidates Petition to Postpone Likud Primaries

Accountant Shim'on Sarel and attorney Tzipi Gordin, who are running for places on the Likud Knesset ballot, petitioned the party court, Thursday, to order the party elections committee to posptpone the party primaries from Sunday to next Thursday, November 29th. They claimed that they were not able to make contact with potential voters during the Pillar of Defense counter-terror campaign because Prime Minister and Likud Chairman Binyamin Netanyahu ordered that election gatherings not take place.

The two contend that there was an imbalance between new candidates, who followed the orders, and incumbents, including government ministers, who continued their media campaigns.
