A young woman from southern Israel has written an emotional letter to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu calling on him to provide protection from Hamas aggression. The writer, 22, lost her father in a terrorist attack and survived two other attacks, including a direct mortar strike on her family’s home in Gush Katif. The family was later expelled in the 2005 Disengagement.

She reminded Netanyahu that the two had met in 1999, after an attack, and he had promised her and other children that he would “do everything to protect us.” Now, she said, “The ‘Disengagement’ blew up in our faces. We were attacked in Gush Katif, we lived in Ashkelon and were attacked, we moved to Shavei Darom near Netivot and we are being attacked.”

“We want quiet. Real quiet!... Let Hamas know they cannot take their existence for granted,” she urged. “The time has come to fulfill your promise in 1999 – protect us!”
