Barzilai Hospital's Protected Wing Not in Use

Dr. Lea Nass, Deputy Minister for Senior Citizens, was surprised, Monday, to discover that the reinforced wing of Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon was closed and not in use. The wing was intended to absorp senior citizen who cannot move around easily in time of an emergency.

Speaking during a tour of senior-citizen facilities in the south, the Likud lawmaker noted that 4.8 million shekels from her ministry and the Health Ministry had been spent to reinforce the structure. She added, "I was very sorry to discover that no use was being made of the investment in the wing, which leaves the senior citizens without recourse in time of emergency."
