The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened with modest gains in mixed trading, Monday morning. About half an hour into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,084.83, up .14 percent, while the same percentage increase meant a posting of 1,057.93 for the TA 100, including a .12-percent increase to 1,199.79 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues. The 50 stocks outside the TA 100 rose .27 percent to 383.51.
The real-estate index led the gainers, advancing .49 percent to 280.41, followed by the oil and natural-gas issues, which stood at 1,072.52, up .45 percent. The insurance stocks rose .16 percent to 1.067.80, but a .26-percent decline to 1,082.81 by the bank index led the financial institutions to a posting of 982.68, down .11 percent. An advance of .11 percent to 762.03 was turned in by the biomed index, while the rest of the technology stocks slipped .06 percent to 339.65. The communications and media index stood at 518.76, down .24 percent.
