The Ichud Hale'umi (National Union) party chose six people, Sunday evening, to run on the party's Knesset ballot between new party chairman Uri Ariel and former party chairman Ya'akov Katz, who asked, three weeks ago, to be assigned the seventh spot on the ballot.

Nominated to the second spot was Rabbi Eli Ben-Dahan, former director-general of the rabbinical court system, followed by former chairman Zevulun Calfa of the Gush Katif Residents' Council. In the fourth slot was Chairwoman Orit Strook of the Human Rights Council of Judea and Samaria, followed by Rabbi Hillel Horowitz, one of the leaders of the Hevron Jewish community.
