Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz announced, Sunday, that reserves soldiers in uniform will not have to pay for public transportation, including the Jerusalem light rail, for the week starting Monday.

The minister thanked the public transportation companies, saying the gesture "was intended to express appreciation that the state of Israel has for tens of thousands of reserves soldiers who reported for duty immediately upon receipt of call-up orders to defend the civilians of Israel."
