The official value of the shekel rose an average of .014 percent, Friday, in mixed trading against the other currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar stayed at Thursday's rate of NIS 3.952 while the Euro slipped .052 percent to 5.0405 shekels.
The pound sterling was set at NIS 6.2758, up .236 percent, while 100 Japanese yen rose .226 percent to 4.875 shekels. The Canadian dollar was set at 3.9523 shekels, up .223 percent, while its Australian counterpart rose a tenth of a percent to NIS 4.0869. The South African Rand jumped .724 percent to .4449 shekels.
