Syrian Rebels Target Israel-Syria Border

Syrian rebels are taking over villages just north of the Golan in an attempt to take advantage of the Syrian army’s limitations in the area, the Telegraph reports. Hundreds of rebel soldiers have reportedly taken over Beerajam and Bariqa, two towns in the demilitarized zone between Syria and Israel.

Syria is prohibited from engaging in military activity in the buffer zone. Israel sent a warning early this week after a misfired shell from Syria hit Israeli territory.
