China’s President Hu Steps Down

Chinese President Hu Jintao has stepped down following a meeting of delegates to select new leaders. “I now announce that the 18th Chinese Communist Party Congress has come to a victorious conclusion,” he told the 2,200 delegates.

Vice President Xi Jinping is expected to be selected as the next president.
