United States Vice President Joe Biden has expressed concern over Ukraine’s electoral process to Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich.

According to a statement regarding the conversation between the two, “Noting the strong interest of the United States in enhancing its relationship with Ukraine, the Vice President voiced concerns over Ukraine's recent parliamentary elections. He also urged Ukraine to live up to its democratic commitments and end selective prosecutions."

Opposition politicians have accused Yanukovich of rigging the vote.
