Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’s plan to seek recognition as a state from the United Nations is a violation of the Oslo Accords, Professor Alex Blei told Arutz Sheva. Blei, a researcher at Ariel University, was formerly Israel’s deputy national security adviser.
“According to the Oslo Accords the Palestinian Authority came into existence as an autonomous authority and not as a Palestinian state,” he explained. He added, “Every embassy they set up is a violation of the 1993 agreements.”
As a UN observer state, the PA will be able to file complaints against Israel in the international court, he noted.
