Hamas's Gaza leader Ismail Haniyeh welcomed an official delegation of the Waqf Islamic Authority from Egypt, Monday, and said this was the beginning of the Egyptian struggle for Jerusalem, according to a Tuesday-morning report by the Ma'ariv daily.
Haniyeh said, "For us to host a delegation from the Egyptian government is another dream come true and one more step towards the building of the nation. The Palestinian land is an Islamic endowment, and no one has the right to sacrifice a grain of it. Negotiations and talks are a disaster for the Palestinian people. previously signed agreements are what have brought about enemy settlements and checkpoints, and the siege on Gaza."
