Since the announcement of early Knesset elections, 40,000 people have expressed support, on the Facebook page of the Yisrael Achshav (Israel Now) movement, for a petition to disqualify Member of Knesset Ahmed Tibi (Ra'am-Ta'al United Arab List) from running, according to a Monday-morning report by the Yisrael Hayom daily.

Tibi responded, "This is a campaign of incitement against me to deprive the Arab public of authentic and stubborn leadership. I will continue to express my opinions and act for the interests of the sector."
