Police Fight Friday Riots with Closed Military Zones

The Samaria (Shomron)-Judea District police told Arutz Sheva, Sunday evening, that they were fighting regularly-scheduled Friday-afternoon rioting by Palestinian Authority Arabs, Israeli leftists and international anarchists by declaring four areas as closed military areas. People will not be allowed to enter areas along the Samarian security fence near the villages of Bi'lin and Na'alin between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Fridays until March 18th. The same will apply to Nabi Saleh and Kadum.

The police said that, contrary to reports on Sunday morning, no orders were issued to ban the leftists and anarchists outright. District police spokesman Dudi Asraf said, "The orders were distributed to 16 leftist activists who operate illegally every Friday and they were personally told on the personal assertive initiative of the district commander to prevent their arrival and illegal activity out of a claim they did not know that the places are closed military zones." Distribution of the orders passed without incident.
