Rabbi Eldad Gabbai, a student at the Ohr Etzion yeshiva, was awarded the first prize, Thursday evening, in the Payis lottery organization's first Torah composition competition. Writing on the competition's theme of "Make a friend," Rabbi Gabbai wrote about "Coercion and Intention in Commandments." In addition to the 20,000-shekel prize, his works will be published in a book by the Ohr Hachayim network.
Rabbi Shlomo Kurtz won the 10,000-shekel second prize and Rabbi Avner Achiad Michaeli won the third prize of 5,000 shekels. The fourth-through-tenth-place winners won 1,000-shekel gift certificates from Ohr Hachayim.
