Iran: Sanctions vs. Sanctions

The United States imposed sanctions, Thursday, against four senior Iranians and five Iranian entities. The State Department cited sanctions against the Islamic Republic's communications minister and culture office in Tehran due to Iran's censorship on the internet and other media.

Iran announced a ban on the importation of 75 items it called luxuries, in an attempt to improve the country's financial situation in the light of economic sanctions taken in response to the government's nuclear development program. The list includes cars, portable computers, cellular telephones and coffee.
