Samaria Continues to Grow with New Pharmacy

The Samaria region continues to grow with the opening of a new pharmacy. An inauguration took place at the Shaar Benyamin shopping center in the Benyamin district. In recent years the area has grown with the Rami Levy supermarket, doctors offices, a bakery, pizza shop and other stores. This is the Benyamin region's first pharmacy.

Open barren stretches of land can be seen from all sides of the Shaar Benyamin shopping center, just off Route 60. Small Arab and Jewish communities dot the landscape. The two largest cities in the vicinity are Jerusalem and Ramallah, considered the capital of the Palestinian Authority. At Shaar Benyamin, Jewish and Arab residents work and shop together.

The event was attended by local residents, Rabbi Reuven Elbaz, Member of Knesset Othniel Schneller (Kadima Party), and other public officials. In Israel, pharmaceutical items and medical supplies are not sold in supermarkets or corner stores.
