Opposition head MK Shaul Mofaz (Kadima) said Wednesday that he is sure that newly reelected U.S. President Barack Obama will stand by Israel. 

“The shared challenges we face are tremendous, and require tremendous cooperation,” he said. “I am convinced that President Obama and the American people will continue to stand at Israel’s side as true friends and partners in the same values and goals.”

“The United States is a true friend of Israel and we must work to strengthen our ties and cooperation,” he added.
